Home alone all day, wired all night? Indoor cats with nothing to stalk end up stalking your ankles instead. This chase ball does the moving for you: it rolls about on its own with a feathery tail trailing behind, behaving like something worth catching, so your cat gets a real hunt even when you are busy or out of the room.
How it works: Charge it over USB, switch it on and set it down on the floor. The ball rolls off by itself and changes direction when it bumps into things; the tail flicks as it goes. Start with short sessions so your cat gets used to the movement before you leave it running.
Good for: indoor-only cats, kittens, single cats who need an outlet, and owners who work long hours.
Not for: nervous cats who hide from anything that moves by itself. Introduce it slowly, and skip it if your cat never warms up. It rolls best on hard floors; thick carpet slows it down.
What you get: one rechargeable chase ball with a detachable tail in your chosen colour (green, red or grey), a two-pack (red and green), or the red ball with a built-in sound. USB charging cable included. The manufacturer does not publish run times. Wipe clean with a dry cloth and keep it away from water.

Questions about this product
How long does a charge last? The manufacturer does not publish run times, so treat it as a play-session toy rather than something that runs all day.
Will it work on carpet? It moves most freely on hard floors. Thick carpet and rugs will slow it down.
What is the sound version? The red ball with sound makes a chirp as it rolls, which some cats find irresistible and some ignore. If your cat is noise-shy, choose a silent one.
Is it okay for kittens? Yes. Supervise the first few sessions until you know how your cat reacts to it.
